Singing at the Lincoln Memorial was an awesome experience. They guys in our group are in charge of unloading all equipment including the generator, sound system, coolers and any other instruments and props. Once we set up and took a few minutes to get water, it was time to sing. The audience was made up of people who were obviously from all over the world; they were wearing their native clothes and speaking in their native languages, but they all stopped to listen. Some became so enthralled that they even joined us with singing, dancing and pictures. We enjoyed seeing a few families who used to be members of our Frazer family. Here are a few comments about this amazing afternoon in our nation’s capitol.
Kristina-I liked when the lady joined the group while we were singing to pose for a picture with me during “Crown Him with Glory”.
Bentley-I enjoyed watching the toddler boys breakin’ down during one of the songs.
Tyler U.-It was fun to see all of the people.
Nick-During the “National Anthem” it was very peaceful-like all was well with the world.
Esther-It was hot, and we worked hard to make it the best that it could be…AND IT WORKED!
Billie-People who were not a part of our group wanted to be a part of our group.
Susan R.-It took my breath away when we said the “Pledge of Allegiance” and sang the “National Anthem” in Washington, D.C. and in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
Nora-This performance was one of my all-time favorites out of my seven years as chaperone.
