We have arrived safely in Brazil. We made all of our flights without any problems and everyone handled the flights well. The team is tired from the travel to Brazil but also from the busy day we have had since we arrived around lunch time. As soon as we landed in Londrina, we hit the ground running. We had lunch and then we headed to a coffee plantation that is worked by share-croppers. This wonderful couple, Veni and Alcides, showed us how coffee goes from off of the plants and ends up as ground coffee. We pulled beans off of the plants, learned how to winnow it, how to dry it out, how to roast the coffee and how to manually ground the coffee.
And then, they taught us how to drink it — the majority of the team are non-coffee drinkers. So, it was a great learning experience for the majority. One thing we know, Brazilians like their coffee strong. Veni and Alcides showed us a wonderful time at their home. And everyone on the team would tell you that we are blessed to know this couple and their family. They are a Christian couple that several of the Frazer teams have had the opportunity to visit with on past mission trips.
After our visit at the coffee plantation, we started our journey to Maringa.
We arrived at the hotel around 7:30 this evening and then went on to dinner. It is actually after midnight here. We just wanted to let everyone know that we have arrived safely and have had a wonderful first day in Brazil. We will post more tomorrow.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
What a great looking team! Praying for God to use your time in Maringa to minister in amazing ways to these precious children-for them to see Jesus in each of you. Praying God will bless you all with an extra measure of energy and good health as you sow the seeds of His love into these kids hearts. God bless you all!
Love, Ava
