We started our day today again with a fantastic breakfast and a short exercise workout. We also had a morning devotional given to us by the Hinton Staff, and it was great. They always do a great job in getting a team motivated to go out and complete the mission work for the families they work with.
We had a very good work day today! We almost completed the deck we have been building. The final ddeck boards will be nailed into place tomorrow morning and we may even have tome to put up the rails. (We were not scheduled to do that, but we have done so well we are way ahead of schedule and may have time to do it.)
Our team has been working together very well and this afternoon, we got a little rest and recreation time. After going in from the work site, taking our showers etc. We all drove over to Franklin, N.C. (about 39 miles away) andhad a wonderful meal at one of the local restaurants. It was great! The best part of the trip was the great scenic view along the way. The mountains are beautiful!
After returning home, John Bowlin lead us in a wonderful devotion. He used I Corrinthians 1, “The Love Chapter” as his theme. It was very good and we had some good thoughts to share afterwards. Tomorrow, after finishing our work, we will come in to the Hinton Center and have a family night supper with all the families we have been helping this week. This shoud be a fun time and we are all looking forward to being with Pat Bryson as we finish up some work for her, and make her dream of moving into her first home a reality.
Going on a short term mission trip has many rewards. I encourage all of you, who have never gone on a trip, to take the chance and do it. It will be one of the most gratifying things you will ever do. You meet so many good Christian people and you have a chance to build lasting, loving relationships that will always be there for you and with you. I would not take anything for the wonderful friends that I have met through missions. They are like family to me and I LOVE them very much!
God bless each of you, and thank you for your prayers!
Love,
Ron, John, Tina, Connie, and Jimmy
God bless you, my friends! Sounds like things are going well and God is using you in special ways as well as helping you get lots done. Can’t wait to hear the reports in person. Love from Montgomery, Jacque
I have been blessed this week in following your blogs. You all have shown servant hearts by sacrificing your time and being willing to work hard for the people of Hayesville for them to have better living conditions. God bless your team and I’m praying that you finish strong.
Blessings to all of you,
Ava Garmon
