Today was a day that I will never forget. I have worked with the homeless before, so this was a great experience for me! At first, seeing them walk into the place we were serving was very intimidating. It was so scary for me because they live totally different lives from me. I am used to having a shelter over my head and being cared for. Today, I served in the womens clothes closet for the women that needed a clean pair of clothes. These women did not care what the clothes looked like or if they fit perfect; they just wanted clean clothes. I felt so selfish. I am used to picking clothes that I like and not worrying about the price.
These people are so grateful for the little bit they have. I could never imagine living life without materialistic things. These people struggle so much. Some of them I even saw eating food out of the trash cans on the street. But these people are not any different from us. We all walk, talk, and breathe. God just has a set plan for each and every one of His children in Christ. God is working in their lives… I just know it.
