Today we went to the orphanage and did some painting and spent time with the kids. I am very glad to have said “yes” to the opportunity to serve and help someone less fortunate.
This morning, our devotion was on “Stand up for the have nots”. Part of the discussion was about “an accident of latitude”. This really stood out to me because I have so much partly because of where I was born. If I were not born in the USA my life would not be as great. I could easily be a “have not”. As a “have”, God has placed many opportunities along my path. I believe that God has a hand in where I am, as well as who I know today.
As a “have” I pray that I will not look past the “have nots” and be able to impact lives through the opportunities that have been afforded me. Serving at the orphanage makes me think that every small act of service can make a large impact on the lives of children as well as adults. We can impact the lives of others by showing the love of Christ. I am thankful to have said “yes” to this opportunity to serve.

Anyone who knows you and the rest of the team members on this year’s Brazil team knows how much you love our Lord and want to follow his word. As another “have” in this blessed nation I know how much it means to know we are serving our Lord by loving others. To be able to love on those beautiful children in Brazil only makes it that much sweeter. I am praying for each of you to be touched by this trip and to leave a piece of yourself behind with the children and those who make Lar Betania a success. To leave a piece of yourself is to be forever tied to a group of men, women, and children who make you want to be a better person simply by knowing them!
Love on them for me. Tell everyone I said hello and I miss them,…especially Dulce and Marli and Phillipe and Anderson!
Love y’all too!
His,
Michelle
Oops,…can’t forget about Pastors Sandro and Jacques!
