This time next week, we’ll be in Trujillo. After Jim’s email concerning our travel and the expectations of the Peruvians, I began to think about last year. Actually, I’ve been thinking about last year for a while now. Last year was my first trip. I can’t get last year out of my mind. I recall being awed by the simplicity of the church building but then overwhelmed by the reception we received. The people of the Central Church and, for that matter, each Church we visit will receive us like an old friend they haven’t seen in a long time. Not just Jim and the repeat visitors but everyone on our Team.
Next Sunday will be a long day. Worship in the morning with the Central Church and then a Children’s carnival and meal at Miguel Grau that afternoon. If history repeats itself, the Central Church congregation will have a service prepared just for us. I learned a very important Theology lesson in last year’s service; God is in Peru! Please pray today for God to show HIMSELF next week!
