Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Children’s Ministry and Music Ministry
Frazer’s children were busy all week singing praises to our Savior! The Pre-K through Kindergarten kicked things off first, with their First Splash program Sunday afternoon. The older children let everyone know “God’s Not Dead-He’s Surely Alive”, with drama and song Wednesday night in Wesley Hall. A host of volunteers and staff make these events happen each year—great work yet again on teaching our children how to share the love of Christ through worship, song and skits!
Frazer Student Ministry
Frazer’s Student Ministry celebrated a special Sunday with 15 youth going through Confirmation. These young people completed a 6 week course and a day long retreat with Frazer’s pastors before standing before the church and surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ. We celebrate and pray for these students, please join us in covering them in prayer.
Confirmation Class of 2016:
Victoria Hall, Daniel Istvan, Deon Johnson, Sarah Lowery, Amelia Nettles, Den Pendleton, Ben Peterson, Maggie Rodopoulos, Jamaal Thomas, Jamarcus Thomas, Jarel Thomas, Lily Wientjes, Monica Willingham, Josh Winn and Tyler Wood.
The last Wednesday of the month is always a night of IMPACT at Frazer UMC. The Frazer Student ministry hosts this special time of praise and worship on the last Wednesday of the month in the East Sanctuary. About 50 youth gathered for this Way Back Wednesday throwing it back to the 90’s. Youth Minister Chase Faulk shared a message of moving forward from who you once were before accepting Christ to who God wants you to be. Youth leader Abbie Brunson leads the students each time in energetic and meaningful praise music. Stop in for the next night of IMPACT, Wednesday at 6pm, May 25 in the East Sanctuary.
Celebrating the Frazer Family
Virginia Thompson taught her last Basic Bible class this past Sunday. Members of the class gathered on Friday to throw a potluck supper and party in her honor. As you can from the photos, some of the church’s best cooks are apparently in this class—what a spread! Virginia and her husband, Frazer’s senior pastor Tim Thompson are retiring—looking forward to a new season of ministry and more time with their grandchildren!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
