Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Small Groups
A special event called “Group Connect” drew in several members of Frazer UMC eager to get involved in a small group. The Small Group leadership team was able to help more than 50 people meet other members, learn more about and connect to an existing group and even start new groups. No matter what life stage you are in there is a group for you. One of Frazer’s core values is “Life is better together. Growth happens in Groups”. It’s in a small group setting where people walk through life together and grow in God’s word. If you’re not connected, stop by the Connection Desk in the atrium on a Sunday morning and find your spot!
Men’s Life
A recent Men’s Life Supper provided a hearty meal and inspiring leadership. Even with a local tornado watch in effect on the evening of January 21, close to 60 men gathered in the Fellowship Hall for the monthly time of fellowship. The meal included chili with jalapeño cornbread and chocolate mousse for dessert. Bryan Carter, one of the new co-leaders of Men’s Life shared his testimony with the group. Men’s Life has a 6pm supper on the third Thursday of each month and a 6:30am prayer breakfast on the first Wednesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall.
Frazer Pike Road
The staff and launch team for Frazer’s multi-site at Pike Road are eager to officially open the doors for worship Sunday, February 7. Right now, the launch team is practicing setting up and breaking down the worship areas in the Pike Road School and making sure everything is in place for the first day of worship. Frazer Pike Road will offer a 10am Sunday morning worship time, a nursery, a children’s and student ministry and small group opportunities. Teaching pastor Dr. Patrick Quinn is serving as the Director of Multi-Sites and will also be the campus pastor at Pike Road. Frazer’s teaching team of Quinn, Dr. Tim Thompson and Brandon Dasinger will rotate preaching throughout the year at Pike Road and at the Atlanta Highway site. Please continue to be in prayer as God expands how Frazer is sharing the love of Christ! Below is the Frazer Pike Road staff: Dr. Patrick Quinn (Campus Pastor); Abbi Brunson (Student Leader); Angie Gonyo (Children’s Leader); Jenny Chou (Administrative Assist.); James Keith Posey (Worship Leader and Associate Campus Pastor)
Celebrating the Frazer Family
A special gathering recently honored Linda Poole and the 21 years of service she’s given to Frazer UMC. Linda is retiring after serving as Dr. John Ed Mathison’s administrative assistant during his time as pastor at Frazer and then working with Mathison in his Leadership Ministries. Linda and her husband Ronnie are excited to have more time to spend with family, especially the grandchildren! Linda and John Ed both had a hard time finding the words to say what their long term working relationship and friendship means to them. Thank you Linda for all you’ve done in the life of the Frazer Family!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
