People of Love
December 12, 2015
John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
I read the following quote in a book entitled “Love Does” by Bob Goff, “I learned that fully loving and fully living are not only synonymous but the kind of life that Jesus invited us to be a part of.” We live in a world where the word “love” is thrown around in many different contexts and places. Throughout the study of the life of Jesus, one can clearly see that love is an action. A genuine life of love for God and love for others has the greatest opportunity to impact the world where we live. A commentator said, “Love must become the dominant quality of life, the root of your existence, the foundation on which all else rests.” A couple questions to think about today are, “Is my life characterized by love for God and love for others? When people see me, do they see a person of love?” The obvious truth is that genuine love that leads to an action is hard. Some people are Auburn fans and others Alabama fans, some people get on your nerves, and other people are just not fun to be around. A great truth to remember from God’s Word is that God will work out the action of love through us as we surrender to Him. May we be people of love as we go throughout our day today!
