Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Christmas at Frazer
Frazer’s Christmas program called “Christmas at Frazer” drew thousands of people to two performances in Wesley Hall. A standing room only crowd joined in singing and worship as Frazer’s choirs of children, youth and adults joined the orchestra in singing the sounds of Christmas. The program featured a special guest, the a cappella group, Committed, who won first place on NBC’s “The Sing Off”. The young men say they first came together while in college and determined to always use their talents for the glory of God.
Children’s Ministry
Frazer’s Children’s Ministry closed out 2015 with a fun-filled evening called, “Jingle Jam”! Families were encouraged to attend and take part in games together, be entertained and enjoy some great food. All of those attending said it was a special night of family fellowship.
Frazer Student Ministry
Frazer Students wrapped up a great semester of Wednesday night Blitz programming with a Christmas Movie Character Christmas Party! There was great food, fun, and a challenge from God’s Word — John 1:14, “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” Praying all of our students in grades 6-12th, know the true meaning of Christmas!
Missions
The ONEfamily Christmas tree was a huge success again this year! The Frazer family provided more than 200 gifts for 50 children in foster care. Families turned their gifts in at Frazer and made a special delivery to DHR Monday, December 14th. These gifts will go to children in the foster care system.
Frazer’s Christmas Store put smiles on many faces and you can imagine the joy that will abound on Christmas morning. The Frazer family donated money so eager volunteers could purchase new toys and various gifts. Those toys and gifts were then priced well below market value, allowing selected families to walk through and purchase Christmas gifts for their loved ones. The Christmas Store is designed to provide low income families with a dignified shopping experience—allowing them to provide for their families. Volunteers served as personal shopping assistants, wrapped the gifts and stocked a hospitality room with snacks for all of the shoppers to enjoy.
Did you know Frazer’s “In Christ’s Way” helps people year around? “In Christ’s Way” is here to give people a hand up, to help them clear a hurdle and get back on their feet. Here’s one of the recent stories of your donations changing lives:
“In Christ’s Way recently provided money to turn a man’s utilities back on as he recovers from cancer and searches for a job. The man was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and attempted to keep his job of 40 years at a fast food restaurant even as he underwent chemo and radiation. Unfortunately side effects forced him to quit working. With his savings exhausted, he couldn’t pay his bills so his water and gas were shutoff due to nonpayment. This is where In Christ’s Way stepped in, paying the fees and getting all utilities turned back on. The man turns 62 this month, and looks forward to his first Social Security check next month to help pay the bills.”
Stories like this happen every week at Frazer because of your faithful giving to “In Christ’s Way”.
