Appreciation

Ephesians 4:29 – “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs that it may benefit those who listen.”
Everyone blossoms at words of appreciation and gratitude. Never pass up an opportunity to say thank you or to pass on a complement. If you want to strengthen your marriage then never take your spouse for granted. Always say thank you and tell them how much you appreciate what they do for you. I have people tell me, “They know I appreciate them. I don’t have to tell them.” That’s wrong. Tell them. Speak the words. Praise more than you nag or criticize. Build each other up. It will change your marriage. Parents and children can change their relationship with praise and thanksgiving. Bosses, if you want your employees to be more effective and productive show your appreciation. Praise often and freely. Rick Warren is right when he said, “Give people flowers while they can smell them. When you have the opportunity a single rose every now and then is better than an entire wreath at a funeral.” If you appreciate someone, tell them while they are still living. So who do you need to tell? Who do you need to say thank you to? Who have you taken for granted in your life? Who has helped you along the way? Who has inspired you? Who has stuck with you even when you were not at your worst? Who are the folks who have blessed you the most in your lifetime? Before this week is out, call them, pay a visit, tell them how much you appreciate them. Tell them what a blessing they are to you. Make their day and yours.
