Why is this happening?

Judges 6:12-14
I have asked this question more times than I really care to admit. I have doubted God’s ways and God’s presence in my life. I understand why Gideon asked this question in today’s scripture. In Judges, we are reminded of Gideon’s great victory over the Midianites. But before that victory came a pivotal moment of questioning. Gideon asks, “If the Lord is with us, why is all this happening?” For many followers of Christ, this question comes up over and over again. Why is this happening to me? Why me, God, why me? It is a question born out of pain, suffering, and often times confusion. In Judges 6:14, Gideon receives his answer from the Lord when God responds, “Go in the strength you have… Am I not sending you?” Gideon goes on to win a great battle against a mighty enemy with a mere 300 men. What kind of battles are you facing? How is the enemy attacking you? What obstacles are in your way? There’s no simple solution or prescribed formula to answer the question, “Why is this happening?” God says, “Go in the strength you have”, and know that God is still sending you into the battle with everything you need to succeed. Sending you with His strength, His love, and His peace. Sending you but never alone. The battle you are facing right now can be won with God’s help. Depend on God. Trust God. For today’s battle, go in the strength you have in Christ!
