Just Ask for Help
October 17, 2015
Luke 11:9 “So I say to you, ‘Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock, and the door will be opened unto you.”
My daughter and her husband brought their new babies, Abigail and Isaac, home from the hospital on Sunday. Early Monday morning Virginia texted Dorothy and asked, “Do you need some reinforcements?” That first night with the twins must have been a tough one because my daughter immediately texted back, “Momma, forget reinforcements, we need the entire western world army. Holy Moly!” There are times in our lives when all of us could use a little help. Life is amazingly good, but it is not always easy. Sometimes the burdens get heavy. We get worn out, stressed out, and overwhelmed trying to carry the weight of our problems on our shoulders. Often, we need a little help to lighten the load. Help is available. You just have to be willing to ask for it. There are friends and neighbors and relatives and brothers and sisters in Christ who would come to your aid if you would just ask. Asking for help is not easy because that means admitting that you can’t do it alone. But once you confess your weakness and swallow your pride and ask for help, you will find all the help that you need. Do you need some help in your life? Just ask for it. Help is available.
