Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Pike Road-Multi-site
Members of the Pike Road Multi-site team gathered at The Waters Sunday afternoon for an informational meeting. Several families have committed to launching Frazer’s new campus in the Pike Road School. These families will help with greeting, set up and take down, children’s and youth ministries and many other serving opportunities! Some members of the greeting team took time to tour the school again to get a plan in place for setting up directional signs to help with flow of church members through the school. If you would like to be a part of this exciting new ministry opportunity please contact Pastor Patrick Quinn at pquinn@frazerumc.org. The new Frazer campus opens in February of 2016.
Sunday School-Bible Basics
Frazer is blessed to have a teaching team of pastors who not only preach on Sunday mornings but occasionally find time to teach Sunday School. Frazer’s newest pastor, Brandon Dasinger, recently filled in for Virginia Thompson, teaching the Bible Basics Sunday School class. You can see Virginia’s teaching and some of those who substitute as well, on WFRZ, Frazer’s Christian television station.
Media Ministries
Frazer’s 9:30am Traditional service was shown in high definition for the first time on WSFA-12 Sunday, October 25th. An ongoing technology upgrade made this possible, along with new lighting, sound, screens and projectors in the Sanctuary. Many people who watch Frazer’s church service on television or through streaming have noticed the sharper images and better sound!
Children’s Ministry
Frazer’s Children’s Ministry is celebrating with Jeremy Griggs and his parents Cory and Teah. Jeremy asked to be baptized and the entire Frazer family celebrated this moment with him!
Unchained-The Dollar Club
We caught John Shryock being very creative in the way he gave money to The Dollar Club. Check out the way he turned his dollars into a star before dropping it in The Dollar Club box in Frazer’s atrium. Remember to drop a dollar above your tithe to the church and watch for stories in the Sunday services on how our combined generosity can change lives!
Missions-Transformation Montgomery
Frazer Staff members volunteer each Wednesday at Chisholm Elementary where they read to individual students and classes. Thank you Frazer Staff for your commitment to Transformation Montgomery and the children at Chisholm Elementary.
English as a Second Language – ESL
After Tuesday night’s reading and vocabulary lesson, the ESL Advanced class carved pumpkins! This was a first-time experience for several class members. We have students from Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Sudan, Colombia, India and Bangladesh in the ESL Advanced class.
Frazer Staff Pumpkin Carving
The Frazer staff enjoyed fellowship and team building recently with a pumpkin carving contest. Lots of creativity on display with the end product ranging from the cookie monster to a hamburger to a space ship! The Hamburger took top honors but as you’ll see everyone made their pumpkins come alive!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
