Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Media Ministries
Frazer UMC’s worship service will be seen in high definition on WSFA-12-News for the first time Sunday, October 25th at 9:30am. Frazer’s 9:30am traditional service has been shown live on WSFA for many years, now a major technology upgrade at Frazer will reveal sharper images through broadcast and streaming. The Frazer family is also seeing sharper images projected on the screens in the sanctuary along with new lighting and sound. Many thanks to our Media Ministry volunteers who are putting in longer hours learning how to operate the new equipment! Our television ministry takes the word of Christ into hundreds of thousands of homes.
Unchained-Financial Peace University
The small groups associated with Financial Peace University continue to record “victories” in the name of handling money and living according to Biblical principles. Some of those taking part have cancelled cable and as one mom told us, “Believe it or not we are all surviving without all of those channels and we’ve saved $150 a month!” Others have cut up credit cards, sold vehicles, started cooking at home more often and many report an open, healthy line of communication with their spouse about money! Look for testimonies of people becoming “unchained” in our Sunday services.
Frazer Small Groups—Young Adults
The Frazer Young Adult class had an afternoon of fun and fellowship at Breakout Birmingham. This is a great class for young adults out of college led by Neil and Sylvia Thompson. Anyone can join Sunday mornings at 11:00am in room 7205. Please drop in for a visit!
Children’s Ministry
What a great time we had bowling with friends from our Frazer Children’s Ministry! Many families joined us for fun, food and fellowship at Bama Lanes. We’ll be getting together again soon for another fun family time together so stay tuned!
Frazer’s Children’s Ministry is giving a loving ‘shout-out’ to two amazing Sunday School teachers, Paul and Dian Sims.
This precious couple teaches our 5th grade girls every Sunday and they just celebrated 50 years of marriage! We are so happy for this great milestone in their lives. Parents, life and marriage can be tough, but hang in there and know that with God at the center of it all, you can’t go wrong! Look to the testimony of this wonderful couple and know you can make it!
Missions-Transformation Montgomery
Frazer staff members are taking part in Transformation Montgomery by visiting classrooms at Chisolm Elementary to read with students. A special partnership is in place between Transformation Montgomery and Chisolm Elementary allowing volunteers to pour into the lives of children who live in this area. Wednesday has become a special time for Frazer staff members to visit the children and share a book or two. Recently IT Director Keith Williams and Girl’s Youth director Brittany Finch read to 4th graders and a special education class.
CRAVE-Youth Ministry
Frazer’s youth ministry is home to many talented young people who truly love worshiping the Lord. Last Sunday, four CRAVE students led a night of worship at River City Church in downtown Montgomery. CRAVE’s leaders are proud of Lindsey Ferraro, Loren Pierce, Elizabeth Bellenger, and Peyton Cooper for stepping out in this way to share the love of Christ!
Celebrating the Frazer Family
Congratulations to CRAVE students Annie Skoneki and Carson Ann Crow. Annie and Carson Ann play on the varsity volleyball team at Saint James School where their team recently won the Class 4A Area Championship! Youth ministers Chase Faulk and Brittany Finch, along with IT Director Keith Williams were on hand to cheer on the girls! Chase’s son, Collins and Keith’s daughter, Anna won cutest fans! Congrats Annie and Carson Ann, now onto Regionals!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
