Psalm 103:2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul. Let me not forget all His benefits.”
Do you have a Bucket List? Some folks write down a list of things that they want to do, places they want to go, sights they want to see, and things they want to accomplish before they die. The older you get, I suppose, the more focused you become on your bucket list items. I have very few items on my bucket list: center court seats at a Final Four, a trip to the College World Series if Auburn ever makes it, and an Alaskan cruise. The truth is I have discovered that there is a much better list to make than a bucket list. Make a Blessed List. A bucket list is pretty much all about me and what I want to do. A blessed list is all about God and what He has done for me. Life is really not about the big things that we get to do or that we want to do. Life is all about the small blessings that come our way every day. Write a blessed list. Every day put something on your list that happened to you that blessed you, that made your day brighter and better. Keep the list handy. Your blessed list is far more important than your bucket list because on those days when the way gets hard and the path gets dark it will be your blessed list that will sustain you and will be a beacon of strength and hope. The psalmist was right when he said, “Bless the Lord, O my soul. Let me not forget His benefits.” Start today by making a Blessed List.
