Hebrews 11:8 “By faith, Abraham when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went,
even though he did not know where he was going.”
even though he did not know where he was going.”
Abraham was living a comfortable life. He had it made. He had a deluxe double-wide tent by an oasis in the desert. He had camels, goats, and jewels. He is the patriarch of a large family. His life was good. But God interrupted his comfort. He showed up and said, “Abraham, I’ve got something better in store for you. Pack up your stuff and go. I will show you the way.” Abraham asked, “Where are we going?” God said, “Don’t worry about it. Trust me. I have an amazing future for you.” Abraham, in faith, packed up and left. Sometimes you have to trust God and go before you know. If you and I are to find our promised land, we may have to step out in faith and go before we know. When you feel a holy nudge knocking you out of your comfortable world, you have to go, even if you are not sure where it may lead. Some people spend their whole life getting ready to do what God wants them to do, but they never end up doing it because they never come to the realization that they will never be ready. Some of us are
better at getting ready than we are at going. We like to prepare, get all of our ducks in a row, gather information, study our options and possible outcomes. That is not wrong, but sometimes over analyzing leads to spiritual paralysis. Sometimes where God leads us is not logical, does not make sense, and there is no travel guide. He just says, “Go. Trust me.” Some folks end up missing the life God has for them because safety and comfort has become their god. Too many people settle for less than God has for their life because they won’t let go of their grip on safety and comfort. Don’t settle for less and call it life. Take a step of faith today. Go before you know. God will get you where He wants you to be.
