Jeremiah 29:13 – 14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me . Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. (MSG)
Have you heard of a ball hawk. A ball hawk is a person whose hobby and passion is to go to major league baseball games, not to watch the game but to see how many baseballs they can accumulate. To ball hawks any baseball that has been used by a big league team, is a holy grail. It doesn’t matter whether they catch it, chase it down, scoop it up off the field or even if they beg a player, coach or umpire to toss it to them, every ball is a victory. Thirty two year old Zack Hample is a world class ball hawk. He has gathered 4, 569 baseballs. He is a passionate pursuer of baseballs. I got to thinking that God is a people hawk. He is passionately and madly in love with you and me. When we get on the wrong road, he passionately pursues us to get us back on the right road. When we get lost, he goes looking for us until he finds us. What about you? Are you a God hawk? Are you searching for more and more of God’s peace, God’s power, God’s love, God’s purpose, God’s joy, God’s strength, God’s wisdom and God’s hope for my life? Here is the good news. If you are a God hawk and if you are determined, passionate and persistent in finding God, you will find him and he will change your life. Jeremiah 29:13 says it well, “When you come looking for me, you will find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”
