Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Children’s Ministry
Frazer Children’s Ministry hosted a delightful brunch consisting of breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, and cinnamon rolls for teachers of Frazer Kindergarten on their first day back in school. Frazer Kindergarten’s first day this year was Monday, August 17th with the students only attending an hour from 8:30 to 9:30, so this was a welcome treat to the teachers after a busy morning with the new students. Frazer Children’s Ministry Director Cami Culpepper closed the brunch with a blessing over the teachers and a prayer for a wonderful school year!
We are so excited about our two 4th grade girls — Avery Stokes and Ava Edwards who asked to be baptized this past Sunday!
CRAVE-Youth Ministry
Frazer’s Youth Ministry is back in full swing, meeting on Wednesday nights for fun, fellowship and worship. Youth Director Chase Faulk opened the new season with a message on being part of a Movement for Christ! The youth were encouraged to text “Let’s Go” to Chase at the end of the message if they were all in, and we’re told the youth “blew up” his phone! Next for the youth, be sure to be at the Overflow Concert Saturday, August 22nd at 7pm in Wesley Hall. It’s free, but you need to register by going to cravechrist.org.
Missions
The Frazer family took time to recognize and pray over Frazer member Keri Ward who is answering a call to step into full-time mission work. Keri leaves for Costa Rica, Sunday, August 23rd where she will have a full schedule of sharing God’s love. Along with providing a women’s ministry, weekend bible teachings and one on one discipleship, Keri will also be involved in taking the gospel into public schools. She thanked her Frazer family for their love, support and prayers.
JEMAC—Activity Center
Look for a new “healthy” vending machine in the John Ed Mathison Activity Center or JEMAC for short. Aerobics instructor and coordinator Emily Spear is excited to promote a healthy lifestyle. She let the Frazer staff be among the first to sample new favorites, such as Veggie Straws and Boom Chicka Pop! Stop by and eat a healthy snack today.
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
