What do you want most in this life? What are you pursuing? If I could make a suggestion, I would tell you to want and pursue wisdom. Now I know that pursuit may seem weird to you. We tend to want to pursue better health or pursue weight loss or pursue healthier relationships or greater success or more personal fulfillment or a greater sense of purpose or a higher self-esteem. There is nothing wrong with any of those pursuits, but have you ever thought the best pursuit might be the pursuit of wisdom? God’s word says that “wisdom is more precious than rubies and nothing you desire can compare with her. She will guide you down delightful paths and all her ways are satisfying.” God says that the greatest pursuit is the pursuit of wisdom. Wisdom is the skill to live according to God’s plan. A wise person is one who patterns his or her finances, relationships, attitudes, and all of his or her other pursuits to God’s specifications revealed in His word. Wisdom is your most valuable treasure. When you are following God’s design, then everything else in your life will fall into place. If you want better relationships, pursue God’s wisdom. If you want to have greater personal fulfillment, pursue God’s wisdom. If you want to have a greater sense of purpose, pursue God’s wisdom.
