Luke 19:10 – “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Since childhood, I have been near-sighted. I can clearly see things that are up close, but I can’t see far away. Yesterday morning, I lost my glasses. I took them off to thread a needle, and the next minute I couldn’t find them. I walked around the room in a blur, leaning in close, touching each table and chair and counter. I checked the floor, hoping I wouldn’t step on them. I simply couldn’t find them. So I called Tim. He walked straight over to a pile of books, and on top of the pile, he picked up my glasses and handed them to me. Those glasses couldn’t have been three feet from me, and while me eyes couldn’t see them, his eyes could. Lost people, unbelieving people, people who don’t know Jesus as Savior, are walking around blind and clueless. And they can’t find Christ alone. They need Christians to help them find Christ. You and I have a great treasure in Christ, and we are left on earth to help others find Him. Jesus said, “I have come to seek and to save the lost.” We are just called to do what Jesus did. When someone sees the love and kindness and grace and mercy and compassion of Jesus in you, then the door gets opened for them to be able to hear the good news from you. Today share Jesus in your deeds and words with someone else. You and I can’t save any person that is lost. Only God can do that. But we can sure point the way to the Lord.
