Do you like your job? Is your work more of drudgery than a joy? Is your job getting you down? I saw an article that told about the citizens of Boulder, Colorado, who set a new record in the 8th annual Tube to Work Day with over two hundred people choosing to take an inner tube down the Boulder Creek to get to work. Now they might have shown up at the office soaking wet, but they had a lot more fun than the folks commuting over the highways or who were stuck in traffic or who were rushing to get to work. I bet the folks who tubed down the river were a lot less stressed when they got to work than those who drove to work. Now maybe you can’t tube to work, but you can make your work more fun when you realize who you work for. The Bible reminds us when we do our work, to work as if we are working for the Lord and not just for human beings. When you know that your true boss is Jesus, everyday is an adventure. When you focus on bringing glory to God and not just receiving your paycheck, work can become a lot more fun. What would happen today if you decided, “I’m going to work for the glory of God and lift His name up today.” It might just give you a whole new perspective on your work.
