Missions-Transformation Montgomery
A very special event took place in Frazer’s parlor, honoring some young ladies from Montgomery’s Garden Square. Volunteers with Frazer’s Transformation Montgomery brought out the fine china and the young ladies put on their finest to enjoy a Princess Tea. The Tea is a celebration of a week long Princess Camp where the young ladies learned lessons from Fairy Tale princesses and how their stories relate to our lives as daughters of our Heavenly King! The girls were served on China with silver and roses adorning the tables. They dressed up in beautiful dresses accessorized with crowns and jewelry. We even had some gentlemen in training who seated the ladies and served them. A special thanks to everyone who made the Tea Party such a special event. Everyone left feeling like royalty.
Frazer Pike Road Campus
Are you feeling called to take part in a new venture of sharing God’s love through the Frazer Family? Several families interested in serving at Frazer’s Pike Road campus gathered at the home of Frazer’s senior pastor Dr. Tim Thompson recently to learn more about what’s to come. The new multi-site volunteers had a chance to fellowship together and hear what’s in store, when Frazer launches a new service in the Pike Road School. Target date to begin this new multi-site is February of 2016!
Frazer Staff Lead Team Retreat
A team that plays together works well together! Several Frazer ministry leaders recently got away for a two day retreat at Shocco Springs. With many exciting plans on the table for Frazer, the team is praying for clarity and guidance. Along with looking over the calendar for 2016, the group also got a chance to get to know one another better through some friendly competition and fellowship.
Singles and Divorce Care Ministries
Frazer’s Singles Ministry is getting national attention for its work in ministering to children and parents of Divorce. The author of the curriculum used in Frazer’s DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids congratulated the Singles Ministry is continuing to move forward in these vital areas. A new Single and Parenting group will start up again in September and Kelly Hedges is stepping out in faith to facilitate a new Single Mom group this fall. When thinking about this new calling, Kelly said, “I’m getting very excited about this opportunity to serve at Frazer! This will also be a great experience for me as a single parent. Please continue to pray for me as I take on this role.”
CRAVE Youth Ministry
Frazer’s Youth Ministry launched something called CRAVE Party of 12 this summer. The youth had an opportunity to sign up for several different events, from Biscuits Baseball games to bowling to pizza parties and pool parties—the catch, you had to be among the first 12 to sign up! “Momma Daisy” aka Kathy Boyd in the youth office hosted a party of 12 for middle school girls at her home. The girls spent the afternoon playing pool games in the backyard, eating watermelon and ice cream. The pool time was interrupted by a rain shower but the girls continued the fun by playing games. Kathy says it was a great afternoon of fun, laughter and getting to know each other.
One of those Parties of 12 caught the attention of a new family searching for a church home. The boy & girl (brother and sister) sitting in the front in the photo below, are military and just moved to Montgomery. They were at a Biscuits baseball game recently and saw the Crave Boy’s Party of 12 and noticed how much they were enjoying the game and fellowship. The also noticed that some of the boys were wearing Frazer/Crave t-shirts. We’re told they started researching Frazer and the Crave website and decided to give us a try. Welcome to Ali and Isaac! Thankful the spirit of Christ is seen through the fellowship of our youth!
Two busloads of Frazer youth headed to Six Flags in Georgia to close out a full and fun summer of CRAVE activities. The group of 6th through 12th graders braved the heat and an occasional rain shower to take in the thrilling amusement park rides. Thanks to Chase, Bryan and Brittany… also intern Chase Ritter, for taking in the park with our always energetic youth!
Sports and Fitness Ministry
Frazer’s Good Mornings program found a great way to beat the heat and celebrate another successful summer! Children attending the Good Mornings program closed out this session with a fun-filled water day. Good mornings offers activity-filled mornings for children in first through 6th grade throughout the summer. Up next for the Sports and Fitness Ministry —Upward Football and Cheerleading! There’s still time to sign up—register in the JEMAC.
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
