Psalm 96:2 “Sing to the LORD, praise his name;”
I love to travel, see new places, and experience regional differences. Recently I had the opportunity to visit the coast of Maine from Kennebunkport to Acadia National Park. The lush green mountains, the calm lakes, the rushing ocean, and the tides were all sights to behold and were different from other places I have been. The lobster fishing was prevalent in all of the ports with hundreds and hundreds of lobster traps “pots” in bright primary colors with as many as 800 belonging to one fisherman. Maine lobstermen catch nearly a million pounds of lobster annually. Needless to say lobsters were available everywhere. New fishermen sometimes have to wait for someone else to retire before they can acquire a commercial lobster license. As I took all of this in, I couldn’t help but think of the splendor and majesty of our God. The Creator of ALL things, worthy of ALL praise, who blesses us beyond measure in ways we couldn’t ask or imagine. (Who would have thought lobster would be a 300 million dollar industry in Maine). He provides for us in countless ways and delights in showing us new things. He lacks nothing. “For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills…..for the world is Mine and all its fullness.” (Psalm 50: 10-12) Reflect today on how God has provided for you out of His abundance. How has He delighted you? Sing to Him. Praise Him for all He has made.
