“For we live by believing and not by seeing.” – 2 Cor. 5:7
“But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:7
Do you have one of those simple looking high tech bracelets designed to help people get or stay fit? One brand is the FITBIT—it measures steps, calories and sleep. Those who wear them often say they find themselves walking up and down their street or even around the house, at odd hours, so they can reach their goal for number of steps. Once you reach the goal, the bracelet vibrates in celebration of your achievement—in other words, it’s motivating. I wonder if the bracelet tracked time being still, in His word, and on our knees—if we would be as motivated? The WWJD bracelets were designed to remind people to live like Jesus, but what will it take to make us want to give more of our time and energy to being spiritually fit? Results that you can actually see always seem to motivate more than what is unseen. But nothing is worth more than a peace that transcends all understanding or joy regardless of circumstances. The FITBIT manifesto is “seek it, crave it, live it.” What if that meant seek God, crave more time with Him, and live out His goodness so others can “get fit” as well? A simple challenge, as we chase those extra steps, let’s spend more minutes with Him—I promise you’ll begin to feel His Holy and loving presence vibrating through your life. FITBIT faith, wear it and share it!
