READ: Ephesians 4:15
Tim and I planted the garden last Friday. We planted green beans, tomatoes, pepper plants, squash, and okra. Ever since Friday Tim walks the garden every morning and every afternoon to see what has grown. He looks for the baby beans, knowing they will sprout before the squash. He checks to see if the tomatoes and peppers have been growing at all. Tim is expecting to see growth, and if something isn’t growing, then “Houston, we have a problem.” We plant the garden with the expectation that we will get a harvest. When God saves a person, God plants the life of Christ inside the new believer, and then God watches to see if we grow into the likeness of Christ. Growth is the expectation. If we are not growing, then there is a problem. What could be preventing the growth? In the garden it may be disease, weeds, or lack of water. In your life maybe you are spending more time listening to and following the words of men than you do the word of God. To grow in Christ you must plant deep roots in God’s word. Today commit to memorize one scripture verse. You will be surprised what happens when you grow deep into God’s word. You will begin to grow into the likeness of Christ and experience the life He created you to have.
