Singles Flea Market for Missions
Tents and treasures crowded Frazer UMC’s parking lot as the Singles Ministry held its annual Flea Market for Missions. This has become a favorite event for anyone who loves a good yard sale—church members and the community purchase booths to display their goods. The money raised goes into funding mission trips and local efforts as well. Many thanks to all who participated!
Children’s Ministry
Here’s a look at 2nd grade teacher Melanie Papke doing what she does best – wowing children with her amazing magic. She found this friend who was visiting for the first time and said he needed some “first time magic” for being with us. Melanie and her husband Carter are long-time faithful teachers in our Children’s Department. Children’s Director Cami Culpepper says, “We are so very thankful for how this loving couple pours into our children all the time!”
Children’s Music Ministry
What’s more exciting than seeing your child beam with love and accomplishment as he or she waves at you from the stage? Frazer’s First Splash choir made up of 3, 4 and 5 year olds delighted a packed house at their spring concert. Combining song, scripture, hand motions, and video comments on “Praising God”, the children performed many selections as parents and grandparents snapped photos and encouraged the youngsters with a standing ovation.
ONEfamily—Foster Care and Adoption
ONEfamily is a ministry of Frazer to help families follow God’s clear call to care for the orphan. They offer education and information on adoption and foster care, as well as support for families going through the process. We believe that God calls ALL of us to care for the orphan; whether it is through adoption, foster care, or through ministering to the orphan locally or internationally. ONEfamily hosted a picnic at the Frazer pavilion May 3rd and invited Brantwood children’s home to participate. Fifteen children from Brantwood attended Frazer’s contemporary service, many of them experiencing Communion for the first time, before enjoying the picnic on a beautiful day! This was the first stage in a process of building a mentoring program for older children in foster care. There will be a table in Frazer’s Atrium, Sunday, May 10th for anyone interested in more information, and a training class on mentoring in the parlor May 20th.
Frazer Kindergarten Graduation
Amidst smiles, hugs and tears, Frazer Kindergarten graduated their 5 year olds into a new era! With special songs and scripture, the children showed their families how prepared they are for this next step in their education. Frazer Kindergarten Director Jill Struthers and Assistant Janice Dunman shared how much these children mean to them and encouraged them to come by and visit often! Children’s Director Cami Culpepper invited all of the families to visit a Frazer church service and get involved in the many opportunities for children. Congratulations to all of the graduates!
