READ: Matthew 11:28; Isaiah 43:2-3
Does God ever have to tell you something twice or even three or four times, before you really get it, before you really live it out? This past week, I heard something that God has already covered with me, so I know He’s saying really listen this time. Mark Hall with the Casting Crowns shared during the group’s recent concert at Frazer UMC, that during his recent storm with cancer, he heard God saying just let me hold you, it’s time to be held. Just a few months ago, my sister-n-law who’s battling a brain tumor, said she wants to look up and say, “Okay Lord I’m trying to fight this, what in the world do you want me to do?” As I prayed over her statement, I could hear our Lord saying, “Just fall into my arms and rest and let me fight,” in other words, “Let me hold you; it’s time to be held.” Are you going through a storm of your own right now? Are you trying to fight in your own strength? Our Savior calls out to us, “Come to me, all who weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” As we see in Romans 8:17, as children of God, we are to share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. While life gets hard, we’re never alone, and how comforting to know we can fall back into His arms and just be held. – Kim Hendrix
