READ: Psalm 8
I love the old story of the speaker who began the seminar by holding up a twenty dollar bill. In the room of two hundred, he asked, “Who would like the twenty dollar bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I’m going to give this twenty dollars to one of you, but first let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple up the bill, dropped it on the ground and ground it in to the floor with his shoe. He picked it up and asked, “Who still wants it?” Hands went up. He said, “My friends, you have learned a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It is still worth $20.” Many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by decisions we make and circumstances that come our way. But you never lose your value in God’s eyes. To Him, you are still priceless. Let God tell you who you are. Psalm 8 is a magnificent writing. We are reminded that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. When God created men and women, He sat back and said, “Now that is really good.” Your value is not in what you earn, achieve, or look like. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, the plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future.” You are one in whom God takes great delight. Today let God tell you who you are. You are special in His sight.

This is like another story i read today. She was upset with herself and thought she was ugly or fat and unwanted. She enrolled herself in a weight lifting competition and lost all the weight and became very muscled up. She still was not happy with herself and her the way she looked. She actually gained her weight back and is now an inspirational speaker to others who are like her. God does that for us if we down ourselves it seems the next day or week we gets compliments from others or we seem to notice more strangers looking at us and smiling for no reason.
