READ: Proverbs 11:29
On April 7th my baby niece was born! I got to see my brother become a dad to a beautiful and precious baby girl. I have so many hopes and dreams for her, just as I do for my own daughter. I know there will be ups and downs, good days and bad, tears and joy, but most importantly is that I am there through all of it. My brother and I have not always seen eye to eye and are different in many ways. I have not always been a good sister, I have shown anger towards him when he has hurt me, I have failed him at times as a big sister, but I am thankful that God has softened my heart and transformed me from the inside out. I still have mess-ups and sometimes my flesh wins and my big sister mentality takes over, but I pray that God will never let any emotion stand in the way of nurturing a life-long healthy relationship with him or anyone else in my family. Do you have a sister, brother, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandparent, anyone in your family who you are not speaking to? I pray your answer is no, but odds are that someone reading this will say yes, just as I have had to say yes. If there is a broken relationship in your family, no matter how many times you have asked God to heal this relationship, say the prayer again. Ask God to give you strength today, to remove the fear of rejection, to soften your heart, and ask the Holy Spirit to show this person love through you.
