Easter Sunday 2015, Frazer’s pastors officially announced to the congregation Frazer at Pike Road, a Church Multi-Site coming in 2016. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers related to this exciting announcement.
What is a multi-site?
One church in multiple locations.
Multi-site means Frazer will expand to two locations to reach more people for God’s kingdom, but will remain one staff, one executive leadership team, one budget, one set of core values and one mission—to make followers of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Where did this idea come from?
Our vision for multiple locations is a burden on the hearts of our pastors that grew out of prayer and seeking God in our Joel Committee in 2013 and was affirmed unanimously by our Board of Stewards in 2014. Multi-site is a strategy that has been growing among vibrant churches for decades and has been embraced by the majority of the most mission-minded churches in America.
What will worship services look like?
Our plan is to start with one service in the gymnasium of the new Pike Road School and add a second as the Lord grows the new site. A live band will lead worship music. We are still in the process of prayerful consultation over who will preach and whether the sermon will be delivered in person, by video, or some combination of the two.
What Ministry Programs will be offered?
The goal and challenge of this second site is to recreate all the most critical elements of ministry that we currently experience at Frazer, and to do so with excellence.
Nursery Care and Children’s Programs through 5th grade will be available at the new site with all the attention, care, energy and passion we have come to expect from our Children’s Ministry.
For Student Ministry (grades 7-12), we believe the best experience will be for young men and women to participate in neighborhood Life Groups and in weekday programs here on Atlanta Hwy.
Adult Small Groups meeting in homes throughout the week will continue to be our primary means of connecting people to community and helping them to grow in God’s Word.
Will there be staff dedicated to the new site?
Yes. Initially we anticipate a site pastor, worship leader, and children’s ministry leader. While these staff persons will be focused on leading the new site, they will remain a part of the larger Frazer staff team.
How will we maintain unity as a multi-site church?
The most important factor in maintaining unity as one church in many locations is for us all to have a crystal clear understanding of our mission and core values which grow out of God’s unchanging Word.
How can I be a part of launching the new site?
First, pray earnestly; this vision to see more lives transformed for Christ can only happen as God leads and we follow Him.
Second, consider going. We hope to have 200 Frazer members commit to attend and invest in the Pike Road site for at least the first year. Many of these will be residents of Pike Road already attending Frazer, but that is not required to participate.
Finally, serve passionately. Like everything else Frazer does, this site will thrive only when “everyone matters, everyone ministers.” A new site means new challenges, but also thrilling new opportunities to serve and lead. Look for more information on how to sign up coming soon.
