Can you remember a decision that you made that now when you look back on it you say, “How can I have been so stupid? That was so dumb.” A couple of years ago Virginia and I were flipping channels, and we came up on a show called “The Rattlesnake Republic,” a reality show about people who make their living by catching rattlesnakes and selling them for a living. We saw a guy who made the decision to break the world record of how many rattlesnakes you can put in a bathtub with a man in the tub. The man got in the bathtub, stretched out, and his friends proceeded to put 150 rattlesnakes one by one in the tub with him. The previous record was 130 snakes. My thought was, “Who cares? That’s a stupid decision. What kind of dumb possesses a man to do something like that?” Everybody makes some really dumb and bad decisions in their lifetime. Life is the sum total of all of our good and bad decisions. God has something to say to us about the decision-making process and how we can make better decisions for our lives and improve the quality of our life. Listen to what God says about the decision-making process. He says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you.” If you want to make good decisions, then ask God. He wants the best for you. He wants to give you wisdom. Ask Him!
