My favorite sport is baseball. A lot of folks don’t like baseball because they think it is too slow. Our modern, technological culture believes faster is better, and now even baseball is changing. Baseball will introduce new rules this year to help speed up the game. I’m a purest about baseball. For me, one of the great things about baseball is that it is the one game that is not in a hurry. Do you ever wonder if you are going too fast? Every day we seem to be running on fast forward always hurrying from one place to another, but God designed us with a pause button. He knew we would need to take a break, to rest, to pause, and to catch our breath. He created the day of rest, and yet, in our fast forward world, for many people Sunday is just another day to get more stuff done. Sometimes we don’t need to get more stuff done. Sometimes we just need to take a day to rest. God gave us such a day. I hope you will take advantage of it. Rest, worship, remember who you are, and remember who God is. Don’t die before your time because you have lived your life in a hurry. Rather slow down, catch your breath, and take the day that God has given you. Pause, rest, and worship. It will be the best thing you could do for your physical and spiritual health.
