Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Children’s Ministry
Frazer’s Children’s Ministry took time to spread a little Spring cheer to the residents at Wesley Gardens. Wesley Gardens has been part of the Ministry’s Wednesday night mission focus. With that in mind, the boys and girls made beautiful homemade cards for the residents, sang songs, played bingo together and topped it off with lots of hugs. Both the children and the adults were blessed by this time of fellowship.
During the month of March, Frazer’s Children’s Ministry is “Nutty About Jesus”! The children have been collecting jars of peanut butter to help support the Backpack Ministry, which feeds more than 55 families each week through our public schools. Frazer encouraged everyone to consider donating a jar of peanut butter this month, and already we have more than 150 jars to show how “nutty” we are about Jesus!
Sunday School Volunteers
Virginia Holmes’ Prime Time Sunday School Class are “hopping to it” as they get Resurrection Eggs ready for Frazer UMC’s BIG Spring Fling Saturday, March 28th! Volunteers Jynelle and Al Lopez were all smiles as they knew they would be bringing smiles to the faces of our children at this great evangelical outreach event! Be sure to take part in Frazer’s Spring Fling 9:30am-noon, March 28th to experience the resurrection eggs, puppets, games and much more!
CRAVE Mission Montgomery
Spring Break for several members of Frazer’s Youth ministry involved three days of reaching out and making life a little better for others. Students taking part in Mission Montgomery planted trees and helped with yard work at Transformation Montgomery. Monday afternoon, the group spent time at the Chisholm Boys and Girls Club engaging in crafts and games with the children. The youth spent the night in the Activity Center, enjoying a fun and meaningful time of fellowship together.
Outreach Ministry
We welcomed 23 new members into the Frazer Family during Sunday morning worship, March 22nd. They came forward to join the church in both the Sanctuary and Wesley Hall. Be sure to drop by the New Member Reception this coming Sunday, March 29th at 10:30am between services. This is your chance to say hello to our new members and personally welcome them into the Frazer Family.
Men’s Life
The Frazer Men’s Life Fishing Mission started back Saturday, March 21st, and there are no stories of the “big one that got away”! More than 15 Goodwyn Middle School students caught almost 300 pounds of catfish in their outing in Lee County. Goodwyn principal Rodney Bright, coaches and teachers joined the students. Also the founder of Flat Line Ministry, Dewayne Rembert, shared a devotional with the students as they enjoyed a pizza lunch. Men’s Life will have Fishing Missions the 3rd Saturday of each month from March – September 2015. Each month they will take a different group of students from the Montgomery area schools. Next month, Men’s Life will be hosting 20–25 young men from Capitol Heights Jr. High with a special emphasis on children living in the Garden Square area. Men’s Life were blessed to have a dozen men from Frazer to assist with the trip!
If you are interested in joining Frazer’s Men’s Life Fishing Mission for their next trip please contact Charles Hall at candfhall@charter.net.
