Have you ever heard of a ball hawk? A ball hawk is a person whose hobby and passion is going to major league baseball games to see how many baseballs they can accumulate. To ball hawks, any baseball used by a big league team is a holy grail. It doesn’t matter whether they catch it or beg the player to toss it to them, every ball is a victory. Thirty-two year old Zack Hample is a world-class ball hawk. He has gathered 4,569 baseballs. He will wear the jersey of one team during batting practice and ask players to toss him a ball, and when the other team comes out he changes jerseys. He has learned how to say “Please, throw me the ball,” in five languages. God is a people hawk. God is passionately and madly in love with you. When you get on the wrong road, He passionately pursues you to get you back on the right road. I confess I am a God Hawk. Every day I am searching for more and more of God’s peace, power, love and hope in my life. If you are a God hawk, you will find Him. But better yet, He will find you. I love the way The Message translates Jeremiah 29:13, “When you come looking for Me, you will find Me. Yes, when you get serious about finding Me, and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”
