Children’s Ministry-Sunday School Teachers
Parents of 4 year olds at Frazer will be getting a special gift from their children thanks to their creative teacher! Julie Overby started teaching the 4 year olds last fall and recently helped them create a beautiful valentine expressing their love and personalities. Children’s Ministry Director Cami Culpepper says she is thankful for all Julie does in the classroom and is blessed by her entire crew of volunteer teachers.
Upward Basketball & Faith Radio
Upward basketball is going strong at Frazer UMC with 50 teams, 400 players and more than 100 volunteer coaches! This past Saturday Faith Radio stopped by to share a few inspiring words during half time of all the games. The games continue every Saturday morning through February with a season celebration party set for February 28th at 6pm.
Casting Crowns
It’s a good news, bad news sort of story—good that our community is so drawn to a christian concert, bad if you didn’t snag your tickets! The Casting Crowns concert set for April 16th at Frazer UMC sold out in less than a week. More than 2100 people will pack Frazer’s Wesley Hall to hear the christian band that has been leading people in worship over the radio airwaves and in person for more than 15 years! The Christian contemporary rock band started in 1999 as part of a youth group at First Baptist Church in downtown Daytona, Florida. They later moved to Stockbridge, Georgia where more members joined, the band’s music and style of worship has earned them Grammy and Dove awards.
Missions-Haiti
Impressive results in Haiti where Frazer UMC helped build a school in a system that has grown to 34 facilities educating more than 6000 students. The Mwen Kapab school system is thriving with the support found through Mission of Hope.
The school’s original curriculum is taught from pre-K through 6th grade. This excellent, Christ-centered curriculum started as a dream in a crowded office and has progressed to a team of writers and a staff of five Haitians who drive the development. New schools continue to request the curriculum, so there is a rotation of training and printing that is in place as Mwen Kapab reaches the hearts and minds of new students.
Here’s a note from one of the school leaders in Haiti to the Frazer Family: “Your support enables us to place strong curriculum, founded on God’s Word, into many Haitian classrooms. Pray for clarity, creativity, and God’s blessing on the staff of Mwen Kapab, as they continue to allow God’s Word to transform and mold the children of Haiti!”
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
