Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Women’s Ministry
Everyday of the week hundreds of children come into our doors to be cared for by the teachers in our Frazer Kindergarten program. An outreach ministry called Mom2Mom works to connect with these moms while they’re on the Frazer UMC campus. This past week the outreach ministry hosted the second Frazer Mommy Painting Party. There were several new moms interested in finding out more about Frazer and how they can get connected. Many of these families are new to the area and find their way to Frazer searching for a school, in the process they find a church home as well. Moms with preschoolers and younger are encouraged to take part in the Mom2Mom ministry.
Children’s Ministry
Frazer’s new Live Security Check-in was a huge success on its first Sunday morning!Caroline McGinnish was among the first to check-in, as you can see the experience went so well it resulted in a high-five and smiles for both Caroline and her mom, Heather. Children’s ministry director Cami Culpepper credits her awesome team for the smooth launch. To see a video of how the new check-in system works, go to our website at frazerumc.org.
Missions
Our Frazer family welcomed some special visitors recently who traveled more than a thousand miles to worship at the Frazer campus! Javier and Anna Diaz, the pastors of our sister church in Guanabacoa, Cuba made a stop in Montgomery. Javier preached at the Frazer Hispanic service Sunday morning and at the evening Chapel service Sunday evening. Many members of our Frazer family had an opportunity to say hello during special greeting times in the atrium.
Media Ministries
You’ve seen the email newsletter (in fact, you’re reading it right now!), now be on the lookout for “Breaking Good News”—the TV and Web show! Frazer’s Media Ministries is launching the 30 minute program on WFRZ-TV and you can view segments online and on social media as well. It debuts this Sunday at 5:30pm and can also be seen Wednesday at 9pm and Saturday mornings at 8:30am. Frazer’s own Abby Dorminey and Keith Williams host the program that features some of the good news happening through the service and gifts of the Frazer UMC family. Look for compelling interviews on how you can get connected at Frazer! The first episode highlights the Youth Ministry’s DNOW weekend; leagues and fitness in the Activity Center and mission work in Haiti. Watch WFRZ-TV on channel 13 or 34 depending on your cable provider.
This is the second new program launched on WFRZ in less than a month. “One Hope”, hosted by Kim Hendrix, hit the airwaves in mid February. “One Hope” features inspiring testimony, a children’s segment and a Biblical view of today’s headlines.
