When my children were young I would check in on them at night. I would go into each child’s room and peek in their door. Their faces were so angelic, and I was overwhelmed by a sense of absolute peacefulness. What happens to that peace? The older we get the more complicated life seems to get. We start living in a state of unpeace. I know that “unpeace” is not a word, but have you ever experienced a state of unpeace? Unpeace is when you can’t sleep and the heaviness of the load you are carrying zaps your energy. Unpeace is when you stop living and just start existing, and you lose your joy. How can we move from a state of unpeace back to peace again? I believe my children slept so soundly is because they trusted their daddy to protect them, watch over them, and to care for them. If you are in a state of unpeace, remember this, you are not in charge. You have a heavenly Father who knows you and promises to give you what you need to sleep peacefully and to live abundantly. Jesus said, “Come unto Me all you who are burdened, worn down, stressed out, and I will give you rest.” He said, “My peace I give unto you; My peace I leave with you.” Daily put your life in the hands of Jesus. Trust Him. He will lead you from unpeace to peace again.
