A few weeks back I served my volunteer time with the Montgomery Kiwanis Club at the State Fair. I enjoyed taking up tickets and greeting and talking to people at the gates. However, one of my volunteer stints was to guard a locked gate. I spent five hours sitting at a gate where no one could come in and no one could go out. I am glad that with God there are no locked gates. Jesus said, “I am the door and those who come in through me will be saved. They come and go freely and will find good pastures.” Some of you may be living imprisoned behind locked doors of depression, addiction, sadness, brokenness, or bondage to some sin. And perhaps, no matter how hard you have been trying to get set free, nothing you do seems to work. Jesus said, “I am the Way. I am the Door.” When you put your faith and trust in Him, He will save you from whatever it is that is keeping you imprisoned or in bondage. He wants to set you free. I would bet that some of you have tried everything else, pills, books, groups, therapy, and will-power, and nothing has worked. Why not try Jesus? He is the way. He is the door to freedom, to new life, and to a beautiful future for you.
