We all know that exercise is good for our physical health. Some people jog, others go to the gym and lift weights or get on treadmills, some are in aerobic classes or Crossfit, and some bike. The only form of exercise I really enjoy is walking. When I walk, it makes me feel better. There was an interesting story on Fox News about a study that found that happy people walk faster, swing their arms more, and move more up and down and less side to side than sad people. The odd thing that the researchers found is that when sad people imitated the happy walk, they felt better. So maybe it’s true that when you put a little bounce in your step, it spreads a little sunshine in your heart. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:2, “Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice.” So, why not today start walking in the way of Jesus. Start walking in the way of love. Share some love today; spread some joy. Serve somebody who is in need. Put others first. Sacrifice something so that someone else’s life can be better. Then see if it isn’t true that when you walk differently, you feel differently; that when you walk in the way of Jesus, the way of love, it makes everything in your life better.
