We are constantly looking for big spectacular things to do for God, but most often the greatest things done for God are the simple, small things. God doesn’t ask us to do something big for Him. He asks us to take small steps of faith so He can do something big in us. To do great things for God starts with just loving the person in front of you. That’s what Jesus did. The person in front of Him was the most important person in the world to Him at that moment. One person at a time Jesus changed lives. Fred Craddock wrote, “Most of us will not this week christen a ship, write a book, end a war, appoint a cabinet, score a touchdown, dine with the Queen , or convert a nation. Most likely today will present no more than a chance to give a cup of water to a stranger, write a note to a sick friend, visit a nursing home, deliver a meal, read a story to a child, feed the neighbor’s dog, listen to a friend, encourage a co-worker, or be kind to a harried store clerk.” You see, great things happen for God when you just love the person in front of you. It is a good way to live your life to remember the most important person in the world is the person standing right in front of you right now.
