Youth Block Party
CRAVE and Youth Worship Arts showed up in a big way on a Sunday afternoon to make children in the Garden Square area feel loved. Our youth teamed up with “That’s My Child Ministry”to host a block party at the Transformation Center in West Montgomery. The crowd of community residents, volunteers and musicians was 500 strong! Everyone enjoyed hot dogs and baked goods from Frazer members, and the children took part in games, face painting and crafts. Each Frazer student was paired with children from the neighborhood so they could take them around to all the activities. One organizer said, “Frazer students are fantastic at making kids feel loved and welcomed.”It was a great day of fellowship and opening doors for unity in our city.
International Sunday School Class
The International Sunday School classes taught by Cindy Alsabrook, recently hosted a Laotian/Thai Worship. Associate Pastor & Minister of Missions of the All Nations Church in Huntsville, Mr. Aaron Phangnivong served as the guest speaker. The event and speaker were so well received the group would like to make this a monthly outreach event. Mr. Phangnivong has graciously agreed to come each month. Cindy will be inviting Laotians and Thai’s from various churches in the River Region. The next event is set for October 18th in room 7207.
Team Jones in Moldova
Frazer Missionaries Brian and Kathryn Jones are well on their way to being fluent or at least “incredibly conversational” in Romanian. The Jones have spent 2 months in Moldova and the last month in Romanian language classes. They recently moved into their new, permanent home. Here’s a recent update from Brian and Kathryn:
“Our new home is a three room flat, and we LOVE it. It has a kitchen, a living/bedroom and a bathroom. It is about 430 square feet of awesomeness. We are on the same street with all of the Stella’s Houses—God’s timing and provision for us in all of this is just incredible! We have begun teaching English to the boys at Simon’s House. Every Monday, we take a bus to the nearest station, then walk about a mile to their house. It is so wonderful to have an intentional time to spend with the boys. I am trying hard not to speak too southern—I am teaching the boys to say “y’all”because I think it’s a good word to know and understand especially if they are speaking with me. Finally, we can’t say it enough: THANK YOU for all that you do for us. We have been so blessed by so many of you through notes of encouragement, financial contributions, wise advice and lots of prayers. God is truly good all the time.”

Vision Mission Team
The Vision Mission team to Haiti is back after a very successful trip. Frazer member Dr. Roy Hager along with another optometrist from Texas saw 67 patients and distributed 50 pairs of glasses donated by Frazer. Dr. Hager worked with Mission of Hope to create the layout for the Eye Surgical Center, along with providing a list of necessary equipment and supplies. The group met with the president of the Haitian Lions Club who verbally committed to provide funds to help build the Eye Surgical Unit. Our Frazer team joined a standing room only crowd as they worshiped with our friends in Leveque. What a joy to see the church built by Frazer members packed with people praising and worshiping our Lord!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
