God’s best work is not always right in front of us or easy to see! So often the results of obedience are only seen in the future. It’s easy to be blind spiritually and miss the real beauty of the moment. I can see what’s wrong clearly with my flesh; blurred by my judgmental heart. My prayer is often, “Lord open my eyes to see your grace, your mercy, and your love in every moment of today. Open my heart to care enough to open my hands to help others where needed. Remove the scales of my sinful eyes and let me see You in the moment and in the eternal benefit.” When we’re physically tired our vision can also be strained. Rest is needed for the body and the soul. Jesus often got away from everyone to refresh in the Father’s presence. To keep focus on God and his Word we must get away like Jesus to a quiet place and rest. Take the time often to get close to Him, to get His perspective…that we may see clearly. (1 Cor 2:9-10 NLT) That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” {10} But we know (see) these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets.”
