Every morning I take our little dog for a walk. It is a great time for me to spend some alone time with God. I pray for the needs of my family and the church and or direction for my day. But I also just enjoy breathing in the fresh morning air and watching the sun come up over the horizon. On most mornings there is heavy dew on the ground. The dew highlights some things that are there in the grass but you normally cannot see. The most abundant of these are the spider webs. They are everywhere! Small webs made over and around the blades of grass often with a tunnel on one end where a spider resides, waiting for an insect meal. I know the webs are there during the day, but they are hidden in the bright sunlight. God has hidden himself in His creation. Often times we miss His presence and His miracles because we have been blinded by this world. But God is all around us, whether or not we acknowledge Him or notice Him. We need to train our eyes so that we can see His presence in one another and in the beauty of His creation. We need to train our ears to listen for His voice in the words of others and the buzz of nature. We need to train our hearts to sense His presence. May God make visible to us His hidden things and may we glory in His presence all around us.
