Followership
A church is only as strong as its people. Frazer members show time and time again the strength of a servant heart. Just recently, more than 70 volunteers gathered in the north gym and together worked tirelessly to stuff, fold, label and seal more than 8000 pieces of Followership mail. What a blessing! Many of these packets will be handed out in the atrium September 21st and 28th. Be sure to stop by and pick up your packet between Sunday morning services.
Women’s Ministry
Our women’s Bible Studies have gotten off to a great start this fall under strong leadership. Two of our leaders, Glenda Milling and Nelda Miller are in their 25th year here at Frazer helping women mature in their faith as they grow in knowledge, understanding and relationship with our Lord. Glenda is teaching the Book of Jeremiah Wednesday mornings and Nelda is leading the Precept Study of Moses Thursday mornings. Apples of Gold mentoring, designed to bring generations of women together sharing Godly wisdom and cooking tips, will begin its 14th year at Frazer. For a complete list of studies available this fall, pick up the Connections Magazine at the Connection Point in the atrium or click here.
Missions
A special visitor from Haiti made our Sunday morning services all the more meaningful as he shared how Frazer is changing lives in Haiti’s deaf community. Mackenson St. Louis recalled how after the devastating earthquake four years ago, many deaf residents were living in a tent community with very little food and water. Frazer discovered this God-Size Project and over the past 3 years, Frazer volunteers have helped build homes and a church where both the hearing and the deaf gather for worship. Each home is also designed with a garden area, equipping the deaf residents to grow crops for food and the water supply was greatly improved but still needs updating. Mackenson enjoyed a lunch and reception at Frazer and shared his community’s dreams and needs. He also thanked Frazer for being “their family”too.
Frazer’s Scouting Program
Laurie Trent and Christina Ammeter will lead two new Girl Scout Troops at Frazer. Sergio Rodriquez is heading up the new Cub Scout Pack and Randall Haire will be the leader of the new Sea Scout group, which is the only one in the city. Nine adults met last week to work with Frazer’s New Scout programs. For more information contact Chad Irving at cirving2.0@gmail.com.
Village Green
There is something special happening in tutoring time at Frazer. More than 20 children from the Village Green area come to Frazer each week for help with their school work. While they’re here, they are getting involved with our children’s and youth ministries—attending worship and activity times. So while the initial focus was on school work, we all know a mighty work is underway!
Local Missions
Transformation Montgomery and the Frazer Youth Ministry are joining together to have a Community Block Party at the Transformation Center, Sunday, September 28th from 3-5pm. They hope to provide a showcase of local ministries and all that is available to the members of this community. The “That’s My Child”ministry will be providing the entertainment.
