Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” What you put into your mind sooner or later is going to show up in the way you act, live, and respond to life. The human mind is an amazing instrument. It is a thought-producing factory. What you put into your brain will determine your thoughts. Someone said, “A man is known by the company his mind keeps.” We can think ourselves into a state of misery and unhappiness. But we can also think our way into a state of joy and happiness. You think about yourself all day, you will be self-absorbed and selfish. If you think about sin for long enough, you will think yourself into action. Long before there was Norman Vincent Peale or Joel Osteen making tapes and holding seminars on the power of positive thinking, there was God reminding us of the power of our thoughts. Philippians 4:8 says, “Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right and pure and lovely and excellent. Think about things that are admirable and worthy of praise.” God is saying to fill your mind with good stuff, godly stuff. Read and watch and listen to positive and uplifting words. Let the mind of the Master be the master of your mind. Change your thoughts to God thoughts and it just might change your life.
