Every time I start having problems I think about Job. Job had a lot to get depressed over. He had lost as his wealth, his children, his health, his friends doubted him, and his wife turned against him. Job 22:21-23 says, “Submit to God and you will have peace and then things will go well for you. Listen to His instructions and store them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored.” When we get overwhelmed with life we tend to acquaint ourselves with our problems. But what if you were to acquaint yourself with God again and submit to him? He promises to lead you back to peace and joy. I’m not a great flyer. I prefer to drive. But most of us have been on a plane when you hit some turbulence. The pilot comes on and says, “It will be a little bumpy as we go through some slight turbulence.” At 20,000 feet in the air nothing is slight to me. He will continue and say, “We’re going to climb a little higher and get over the turbulence.” The plane goes up and smooth flying returns. When you hit those turbulent spots in life, if you will just look toward heaven and get close to God, it’s wonderful how things smooth out. One of my favorite quotes is, “The nicest place is to be in someone’s thoughts, the safest places to be in someone’s prayers, and the best place to be is in God’s hand.” Submit yourself to God today. Put your life this in His hands. It is the safest place to be.
