Before I cut my grass I like to take the weed eater and edge around the sidewalks, porch, and trees. I picked up the weed eater, turned on the choke, and began pulling the starter cord. Nothing was happening. I checked the fuel and the spark plug and began pulling again. Still nothing! I pulled so much that I had a blister on my finger from the cord. I gave up and cut the grass without trimming. I told Ashley that we would probably be buying a new weed eater because the old one wouldn’t start. We looked at a few in the store, but I decided to wait. The next day I pulled out the old weed eater, gave it a yank, and it started right up. Sometimes when we pray we give up too soon. Jesus taught His disciples to persevere in prayer. When we think our prayers are going unanswered and wonder if they are even being heard, don’t stop! Sometimes we have to wait on God’s timing or listen for God to give us other directions. We never know when that prayer we lift up, even if it is in desperation, may be the one that God answers in His divine and perfect way. I’m going to give that cord one more pull!
