I like the story of the little girl who was sitting on her grandmother’s lap as she read her a bedtime story. From time to time the little girl would take her eyes of the book and reach up and touch her grandmother’s wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek and then her grandmother’s again. Finally, she said, “Grandmamma, did God make you?” “Yes, sweetheart,” she answered, “God made me a long time ago.” “Oh,” she paused, “Grandmamma, did God make me, too?” “Yes, indeed. God made you just a little while ago.” Feeling their respective faces the little girl observed, “God is getting better at it, isn’t he?” One thing I know for sure is that God is not finished with any of us yet. He is always seeking to perfect us and grow us and to create a new thing in us. And if we would pursue God and to seek to become more like Christ, our lives will just get better and better and better. I think that is good news. Remember, seek the kingdom of God above everything else, and God will give you everything you need for a great life.
