Virginia started building a picket fence last spring to go around a flower bed. She started and stopped the project, started and stopped, and six months later she finished. Last fall, I came home one day and the fence was down. Virginia decided to move it. Now, we have a partially constructed fence around the garden. It took me a long time to realize that, while I like the finished product, Virginia enjoys the process. Virginia enjoys the sunshine and the birds. She loves building the fence and is quite unconcerned about finishing in a hurry. God builds lives because He enjoys us. God starts building and healing and transforming our lives. He knows what the finished product will look like and He is looking forward to that day, but God isn’t in a hurry. God loves the process. God enjoys walking daily with us, shaping our lives as we trust Him and yield our lives to Him. God loves talking to us, teaching us, solving problems with us. God loves doing life with us. And God promises that He will complete the work He started, but God enjoys the process because God enjoys us.

Thank you so much for this devotional this morning!! Sometimes I wonder why the Tuesday night sewing ministry at the church goes on but this is the reason. We enjoy the process!! The end result is we give the clothing to the Red Bird mission but getting to the end and seeing the results is exactly why we continue.
Have a great day!!
